Tony was raised in Yoakum Texas. His father William and two sisters, and brother Bill had their own family band, while Tony's mother sat and listened. Later his two sisters got married and moved away. Then his father went to play with Louis Vanek Orchestra, so Tony got together with his friends Raymond Bordovsky & Linwood Berger, but did not play professionally. They mostly played at the taverns in Sweet Home. At that  time there were three taverns, Mary Turner's Tavern, John Janak's Bar, & Willie Dornak's Bar, and played every week end at one of these Taverns, and played for the donation bucket, but got plenty of free beer. The money they  split up and had enough for their tobacco for the week. Also played for ther friends weddings & parties free.

When Tony got married to Alice Bordovsky, Raymond's sister in 1958, he got his first chance to play with a full size band in Hallettsville, George Machart  Orchestra.

In 1963 Tony organized his first band, Tony Janak's Orchestra, musicians were Joe Jansky, Rudy Petru, Marvin Haas, Bobby Dornak & Tony made his first 45 record ''Happy Go Lucky'' In 1971 he came out with his new LP. "Simply Beautiful.''

Then in 1986 he re-organized his band to a bigger band, known as Tony Janak's Polka Band. In many parts we are favored for our Polka and Western music but also play a mix of contemporary or modern music. Maybe you have kicked up your heals with them in Houston, or Fredericksburg, or Elgin,San Angelo, New Braunfels, San Antonio,       La Grange,Corpus Christi, Hungerford, or just about any place where people appreciate good music, They have met many friends all over Texas, and many good dancers. The group consist of Czech & German,
Hubert Janak, Ronnie Bruns, Leonard Darilek, Elroy Sternadel, Harry Macik, & Tony Janak, Manager.
In the future, if you have any interest in booking their band, please give them a call at                          1 800 752 2581 9 am to 5 pm or e-mail tonyjanak@yahoo.com

When Antonio attended school in 1945 there were two Antonio's in the same class. The Nun had such trouble grading our home work, so she renamed us. Since Antonio Morsales was Spanish  & I was Czech, she named me Tony, so it stayed that way
